As a Plant Operator/ Shovel Driver you will be required to operate the mobile plant as well as carry out other activities within the recycling operations if required by the client or your Supervisor.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



• Provide initial point of contact for incoming vehicle enquiries

• Ensure accurate customer information is recorded onto spreadsheets and details passed to the relevant department

• Maintain and develop good relationships with all customers

• Assist in the completion of transfer/advice notes and pay by weight documentation correctly and pass, in a timely manner, to Accounts for dispatch of invoices

• Ensure that all company policies and procedures and legal obligations are adhered to

• Promote a professional company image at all times

• Operate a fork truck with bale clamp attachment

• Keep the yard and building clean

• Any additional duties and tasks as and when required

• Supervising and auditing housekeeping and Operator maintenance tasks

• Managing timekeeping and attendance

• Operate Baling Machinery within MRF



Requirements

• Good practical/technical capability

• Understanding of recycling/sorting operations an advantage

• Logical and well organised approach to operational aspects of the role

• Good level of numeracy is essential

• Previous experience critical.

• Previous experience in a waste environment would be an advantage but not essential.

• Flexible, adaptable approach essential as is the ability to create a sense of urgency

• You must have a license to drive a front shovel loader

• There are other vehicles available to drive so if you have experience and tickets on other machines, this could be an advantage.

• Logical and well organised approach to operational aspects of the role

• Must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills



These roles will be physically demanding therefore a suitable level of physical fitness will be required
